Cody Rhodes Def. Drew McIntyre To Retain Undisputed WWE Championship At Saturday Night’s Main Event

Rhodes remains on top.
Starting the in-ring action at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in Salt Lake City, Utah, was the Undisputed WWE Championship match between Drew McIntyre and the champion Cody Rhodes.
If Rhodes was disqualified or counted out, he would lose the title, and that was made official on the 10/31 Friday Night SmackDown.
Rhodes stopped himself from getting disqualified by choosing not to hit McIntyre with the belt during a heated moment in the match. Rhodes also avoided a countout after McIntyre sent him flying through the announce table.
Rhodes tweaked his knee when he went for a Super Cody Cutter. He ended up performing the move shortly thereafter.
Later in the bout, the referee was accidentally knocked down. Both Rhodes and McIntyre crawled over to the title belt, and Rhodes ended up DDT’ing McIntyre onto the belt. Rhodes hit McIntyre with the Cross Rhodes to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship.
