CMLL Cancels 2/24 Show In Guadalajara Amid Ongoing Violence Due To Death of Cartel Leader

CMLL announced that they have canceled their show in Guadalajara on Tuesday, February 24 due to the ongoing violence following the death of a famous cartel leader.

The government of Mexico carried out a mission and captured Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes a.k.a. ‘El Mencho’, leader of one of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. Cervantes was injured in the operation and died while in transport to Mexico City for medical attention.

The fallout has led to violence, where at least 62 people have been killed.

CMLL issued the following statement:

In light of the events of the last few hours in our country, and following the recommendations of the security authorities, we have made the decision to suspend our show on Tuesday, February 24, at the Arena Coliseo in Guadalajara, prioritizing at all times the protection of the best fans in the world.

The decision reflects our commitment to ensuring a safe environment for the audience, the talent, and all personnel involved in the operation of the event.

We sincerely appreciate the understanding, support, and trust of our fans. We will continue to provide updates through our official channels.

The show was set to be headlined by Barboza, Difunto & Furia Roja against Dulce Gardenia, and Calavera Jr. I & II.
