Claressa Shields talks possibly switching the boxing ring for a pro wrestling ring.
Shields is a widely successful professional boxer, but like several major names in the world of combat sports, she has been approached about possibly stepping foot in a WWE ring.
While speaking on a recent episode of Ring Champs, Claressa Shields spoke about how she recently met Triple H, and that ‘they want her to do WWE’.
“Like, I just did an interview with Stephanie McMahon for WWE. They want me to do WWE. Triple H came down and met me himself personally, and was like, listen, he came from whatever he was doing, and Stephanie was like, stay right here. She said, ‘my husband Triple H wants to meet you,’ and then he came downstairs, and I was like, ‘man, this is crazy.’ I’m kind of on the inside. I’m like having a bunch of butterflies. But I’m like, this is crazy.”
After the hosts briefly highlighted that wrestling is fake unlike MMA, Shields would fire back by sharing that she knows several WWE wrestlers, and they still get hurt.
“Now, one, I know the girls who do it. Shout out to my girl Jade and freaking Bianca. Trinity. I know all of them, and they all told me that it’s very hard, and they have to practice so they don’t hurt each other. But even with that, they still hurt each other very bad. They still get hurt.”
