Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo Wins NXT Heritage Cup Championship On 6/24 WWE NXT

Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo has captured his first championship in WWE NXT.

Stacks defeated Tony D’Angelo on the June 24 episode of WWE NXT to win the NXT Heritage Cup Championship. The title was previously held by Noam Dar, who had to relinquish it due to injury.

The match between the former tag team partners-turned-rivals concluded with a score of 2-1, as the round system returned to NXT Heritage Cup Championship matches. D’Angelo would get the first victory with a Spear in round two. Stacks picked up a quick win in round 4 with a small package.

The final decision would come as more dissension between Tony D’Angelo and Luca Crusifino played a role in the match. Crusifino was trying to neutralize Stacks’ goons but ended up accidentally hitting Tony in the back with the bucket, leading to a suplex from Stacks and a final Shining Wizard for the victory.

Tony D’Angelo would punch Luca after the match.
