Buff Bagwell Undergoes Leg Amputation
Buff Bagwell underwent a right leg amputation on July 10, stemming from a 2020 car accident that left him without a kneecap.
Speaking to Maven on his YouTube channel, Bagwell revealed that when he got into a car accident in August 2020, his kneecap was caved in. Bagwell was driving under the influence and drove his car through a bathroom behind a Marietta, Georgia mall after blacking out.
Bagwell underwent multiple surgeries over the years, but couldn’t undergo a knee replacement surgery due to having no kneecap. Bagwell explained that he could have continued undergoing surgeries and rehab, but his leg would have had to remain straight for the rest of his life.
Bagwell hopes to get back in the ring at some point now that he’s gotten his life on track and remained sober.
“I want to get back in the ring, run the ropes, have a match. It’ll show that I came out of the darkness with this ting and I turned it around all the way to be back in the ring as Buff Bagwell. You don’t have to give up with something like this. I’m taking it by the horns and showing that you can have just as good of a life without a leg,” stated Buff.
Fightful wishes Bagwell the best as he continues to recover and rehab.
