Buddy Matthews discusses his recovery from an ankle injury.

Back at AEW Grand Slam Australia, Buddy Matthews would challenge Kazuchika Okada for the AEW Continental Championship. However, he would suffer an ankle injury in the bout that has kept him on the shelf since.

During a recent IG live, Matthews would discuss his injury, noting that the recovery isn’t going as he had originally hoped.

“The ankle is not recovering as well as I thought it would be. There’s no mobility to it, if I can’t have mobility, I can’t move properly. Once it hits three months without healing, it becomes chronic… I thought I’d be back in the ring in April.

Fightful will continue to update fans on Buddy’s recovery from injury as the news breaks.

Matthews’ stable mate Brody King recently found himself in the news following his appearance at AEW Grand Slam Mexico. You can read more about that here.
