Booker T On Jelly Roll: He’s Taking Things Very Seriously, It’s About Entertaining The Fans

Booker T has high praise for Jelly Roll.

At SummerSlam, Jelly Roll will make his in-ring debut for WWE, teaming with Randy Orton to face off against Logan Paul and Drew McIntyre.

Roll’s involvement in SummerSlam has been a controversial topic on the internet, as fans are seemingly divided on whether or not he deserves a spot on the card.

On the latest edition of the Hall Of Fame podcast, Booker T gave Jelly Roll his props, praising him for losing weight and being committed to wrestling.

“I’m gonna give Jelly Roll his props. He’s a dude that’s taking this thing very very seriously. People always talk about outside stars coming into the wrestling world and trying to take a spot or whatever, but me personally, this is sports entertainment. This is about entertaining the fans. If Jelly Roll can bring his fan base to the WWE to watch him, that means another fan is going to be watching all of that other talent on the show as well. My thing is this, if you take it serious like Jelly Roll is — this dude has lost over 100 pounds. That right there tells me he’s motivated, okay. It’s motivated him to get himself in shape. That right there, top rank above all for me. I don’t give a damn, I’m serious. Jelly Roll’s health is more important to me than any match, but if the match motivate Jelly Roll to get in shape, to do something that he has been inspired to do since he was a little kid, you know what I mean? Now, he’s getting a chance to do it just like Bunny. Just like Bunny and all the rest, all the way back to LT back in the day. If they can bring something to the table, bring it. Big ups to you Jelly Roll for doing your thing man.”
