Blake Monroe Debuts In Glamorous Vignette As WWE Rebrands Mariah May

Mariah May has given herself a new name in WWE NXT.

After debuting on the June 3 episode of WWE NXT, the former AEW Women’s World Champion has been rebranded as Blake Monroe, according to a report from Fightful Select, which first revealed her new name.

The actual TV reveal came in the form of a vignette where Monroe was shown watching a TV report on her debut. She was shown watching the report in the tub. Then she quickly got ready as a narrator announced, “The Glamour is Blake Monroe.”

The name reveal was also accompanied by a graphic featuring a cartoon iteration of Blake Monroe, reminiscent of the intro to the Anna Nicole Show from the 2000s.

It was later reported that Blake Monroe would officially join the NXT roster on June 10. This will be a contract signing segment. Fightful will continue to monitor the story and report any updates.

Mariah May is a former AEW Women’s World Champion. May hasn’t wrestled for AEW since losing the AEW Women’s Championship to “Timeless” Toni Storm at AEW Revolution. She was removed from the company’s roster page on May 30. Fightful Select reported that May was expected to join WWE.
