Bishop Dyer (Baron Corbin) Says An Extra Got Dog Food Poured On Him Because Vince McMahon Wanted To See How The Food Came Out Of The Can
The former Baron Corbin reflects on the dog food spots from his 2019 rivalry with Roman Reigns.
Prior to Cody Rhodes’ victory over Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL, Baron Corbin was the last man to defeat Roman Reigns in singles action for nearly five years. During their rivalry in 2020, a Loser Eats Dog Food Match took place, where Roman Reigns & The Usos (Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso) defeated Dolph Ziggler, Bobby Roode, and Baron Corbin. That episode of SmackDown ended with Corbin being covered in “dog food.”
Speaking about this incident to SP3 and Jeremy Lambert on Fightful Overbooked’s In The Weeds, Bishop Dyer, Corbin’s new name in MLW, recalled an extra getting dog food poured on them because Vince McMahon wanted to see how the substance would come out of the cans. No, Vince did not pitch the idea to any performers. He simply told them that’s what they were doing.
“This is not a pitching thing. This is a, ‘Hey, this is what we’re doing.’ ‘Yes sir.’ It was legit dog food, and it smelled God awful. I was trying not to vomit while I was putting it on him. If you watch the clip, I’m making a weird face because it smelled so bad. Here is the best part of it all, that nobody was privy to. In the back, Vince wanted to see how it poured out of the cans. They just took an extra and had him stand there, and they opened the can and poured it on the extra’s head to see what it would look like.”
As for whether or not the extra got paid any more money than he would have otherwise, the former Baron Corbin isn’t sure, but he hopes so.
“I really hope so. Extras probably make $500 for the show. ‘What did you do at work today, honey?’ ‘They poured dog food on me.’ ‘What?’”
Bishop Dyer is now paired with Donovan Dijak, another former WWE star, in MLW. The Skyscrapers, as they are collectively known, are slated to take part in MLW Fightland. The event will be held on September 13 in Texas. Learn more about that event here.
