Bandido discusses missing over a year due to his wrist injury.
In June of 2023, the current Ring Of Honor World Champion would wrestle his final match for over a year as he underwent two separate surgeries on his wrist before making his return to AEW programming at the beginning of 2025. Since then, he has wrestled some of AEW and ROH’s top stars in matches that have received heavy praise from wrestling fans and critics alike.
While speaking to Haley Miller for Vice in a new interview, Bandido was asked about his wrist injury and his time on the shelf, noting how he was told that he had to ‘restart everything’ after his first surgery.
“Well, well, you know, that was very hard for me. I thought… it will be like just six months. After my first surgery, they say, ‘Hey, your wrist is not good. We need to restart everything.’ So I feel very bad about it. But now I know that everything has a purpose, you know?”
Elsewhere in another recent interview, Bandido noted that he is very grateful for Tony Khan and how he has believed in him since day one. You can read more about that here.
