Athena On Dancing With Blue Meanie: It Was The Best Birthday Present Ever

Athena continued her forever reign as ROH Women’s Champion at ROH Death Before Dishonor, defeating Mina Shirakawa in the main event.
As part of her entrance, Blue Meanie joined Athena to do the Meanie dance. Athena participated during the entrance, but wasn’t happy when Meanie danced with Mina in the ring.
Speaking at the post-show press conference, Athena was asked by Adam Barnard of The Sportster about dancing with Meanie.
“The Blue Meanie, as much as I hated him dancing with Mina, when I used to do long car rides with my husband, we would do the Blue Meanie Dance to random songs. It goes with everything and it’s so awesome. When this all popped up and transpired, and Billie organized everything, she organized the dance team. She did a way better job than Lexy did the last time with our dance team around. It was really cool. When I found out about it, I was extremely giddy. I met Meanie shortly after I left WWE and he was the nicest and coolest guy. I think my interaction was, ‘Hi, I danced to your song in my car. Bye,’ and I left because I’m awkward when I meet people. When it happened today, Billie will tell you, I was on cloud nine because Sunday is my birthday and I was like, ‘This is the best birthday present ever. It’s my birthday and I get to dance with the Blue Meanie.’ I hate dancing in wrestling, but I feel it’s an exception if I do it. It’s really cool to have someone as historic as him for this building, for the company to give him a spot. It’s cool to be part of that. I’m immensely happy. I can’t put it into words right now because I’m going to go home and watch that clip on repeat,” she said.
Athena celebrated her birthday on August 31st.
