Athena Def. Thunder Rosa At Supercard Of Honor To Continue Reign As ROH Women’s World Champion

The ‘forever champion’ reign continues.

Billed as the semi-main event of Ring of Honor Supercard of Honor was Athena defending the ROH Women’s World Championship against Thunder Rosa.

Athena is sitting at 945 days as champion, and Rosa and her battled it out for the belt. Rosa’s shoulder was a focus point throughout the match, and after being put through a table, she urged the referee not to end the bout.

Her shoulder would end up being the reason she lost as Athena locked her in a modified submission, which put pressure on the shoulder, lower back, and neck. Rosa eventually tapped out. It was Athena’s 29th defense of the belt.
