For a lot of AEW talent who worked with Sting in the promotion, it would be a case of meeting their hero, including for Anthony Bowens and Max Caster in early 2022, when The Acclaimed would face off with Sting and Darby Allin. The Acclaimed would go as far as to create one of their infamous music videos for their rivalry and according to Bowens, Sting was a supporter of the tag team.

While speaking to WFAA in a recent interview, Anthony Bowens was asked about getting the chance to work with Sting during his final run, with Bowens revealing Sting’s support for The Acclaimed.

“He was, again, he’s the guy who got me into it, and to be able to have him as a co-worker, to be able to main event a show with him and have a match with him in his final run before he retired, and to have his support. He was always very supportive of me and Max of The Acclaimed. That’s all you can answer. A lot of people say don’t meet your heroes because they usually disappoint you. Sting did not disappoint. He’s an incredible human being.”
