Andrade El Idolo, Konosuke Takeshita, Callum Newman, Aaron Wolf, More Announced For NJPW New Year Dash 2026
A field of talents advertised for New Year Dash.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 20 at the Tokyo Dome is scheduled to take place on January 4th, 2026. The day after Wrestle Kingdom is the annual New Year Dash show.
The 2026 installment of New Year Dash will feature World Tag League winners T.M.D.K. (Zack Sabre Jr. & Ryohei Oiwa) challenging the Knockout Brothers (Yuto-Ice & OSKAR) for the IWGP Tag Team Championship.
New Japan announced that among the names scheduled to appear at New Year Dash are Andrade El Idolo and Konosuke Takeshita. El Idolo is set to team with United Empire at Wrestle Kingdom 20 in a 10-man tag team match. United Empire member Callum Newman, who is recovering from a fractured wrist injury, is also advertised for New Year Dash. Newman has not wrestled since the summer of 2025, and United Empire has one more spot to fill on their Wrestle Kingdom 20 team.
Takeshita is the reigning IWGP World Heavyweight Champion and will meet IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji in a double title match at Wrestle Kingdom.
