Alex Shelley And Chris Sabin Reflect On Current Losing Streak, ‘We’re Not Gonna Lose Forever’

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin reflect on their recent string of losses.
As of publish time, the Motor City Machine Guns are on a seven-match losing streak. The duo of Shelley and Sabin last picked up a victory in the spring, defeating #DIY on the April 4 edition of WWE SmackDown.
Along the way, Shelley and Sabin have lost to other teams like Melo Don’t Miz, The Wyatt Sicks, The Street Profits, and the MFTs.
Chris Sabin took to social media on Friday, August 29 to share a video of himself and Shelley reflecting on their recent struggles.
Alex Shelley: “Yeah, so we wrestled Carmelo Hayes and The Miz and we came up short. That’s been happening kind of a lot lately. I don’t want to say it’s not frustrating, it’s very frustrating, but at the same time, it’s not like we’ve never lost. It’s not like we’ve never lost multiple matches. I mean, that’s kind of what we hang our hats on, is losing and then getting up and learning and getting better and ultimately succeeding because we’re not gonna lose forever.”
Chris Sabin: “Is there another tag team out there that is as battle-ready as us? I’m not sure there is. We’ve been tagging for over 20 years, I’m lost for words thinking about another tag team who is as battle ready as we are. I don’t know what’s next.”
Alex Shelley: “We’re participating in a highly competitive tag team division and we’re at the bottom of it.”
Chris Sabin: “What do you do? I mean, the only thing you can do is get back up, dust yourself off, and keep pushing forward. Our entire career is basically available for people to watch.”
Alex Shelley: “Oh yeah, that’s true. We have so much documented proof that we’re the goats of tag team wrestling. So yeah, we’re going to lose some matches once in a while. You can’t take away our accomplishments, though. We showed up to WWE and in three weeks, we were tag team champions. Just because we don’t have the belts now doesn’t mean we’re not a threat.”
Chris Sabin: “We’ve been around for 20 years and we’re always gonna be around. I think as long as there is breath in our lungs, we will be wrestling. We are your favorite tag team’s favorite tag team.”
