AJ Styles Doesn’t Think TNA Match With Mike Santana Will Happen, ‘As Soon As I Open Those Gates For The Main Roster, Everyone Is Going To Want To Do It’

AJ Styles responds to Mike Santana’s request.

Earlier this month, Mike Santana made headlines with his comments about wanting to face AJ Styles before ‘The Phenomenal One’ retires from wrestling in 2026.

Appearing on the No Contest Wrestling Podcast, AJ Styles was honest about the situation, explaining why he doesn’t think the match will happen.

“I get it, man. I really do. I was hoping that this would happen, I really was but then I realized it probably never could as far as WWE letting me do that. I’ll tell you why. As soon as I open those gates for the main roster talent, now everyone is going to want to do it. I don’t know if it’s going to happen, if I’m being honest. I’d like to, don’t get me wrong. What a moment it was when I was able to go back, but I just don’t see that match — I don’t see any match happening as of right now.”

Styles went on to say that he wishes he could be the only main roster star to wrestle in TNA.

“It’s NXT that has the partnership, not the main roster talent. Listen, I wish I could do it. I think I should be the only guy to do it, but that’s being very selfish. We’ll see what happens in the future, I don’t know necessarily. We’ll find out together.”
