AJ Lee Got ‘Super Emotional’ Watching Stephanie Vaquer vs. Nikki Bella vs. Raquel Rodriguez: “It Was These Three Latinas… It’s Just A Beautiful Thing To See”
The Triple Threat match made Lee emotional.
AJ Lee will be competing in a singles match for the first time since March 2015. She is scheduled to be in action at the 2026 Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event, where she will challenge Becky Lynch for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
Lee guest appeared on Unsportsmanlike, and during the chat, she commented on the WWE Women’s World Title match from the 12/29/25 Monday Night Raw, in which Stephanie Vaquer defended against Nikki Bella and Raquel Rodriguez in a Triple Threat.
Lee said she got ‘super emotional’ watching the bout and explained why it was powerful to see three Latinas in the ring for a World Title match.
“Just 10 years ago, I was competing in limbo contests and bikini matches. It was a different time, and so, to spin it into a positive, I’m just so proud to see all these different kinds of women, everybody’s flavor. Their looks are the least interesting thing about them. They have a million wonderful attributes to them. They are superstars I wish I had growing up, and just to be able to see some matches like there was a title match the other week that was a Triple Threat, and it was Nikki Bella and it was Stephanie (Vaquer) and it was Raquel (Rodriguez) and it was these three Latinas. I never would have seen that on my TV growing up and it made me super emotional. It’s just a beautiful thing to see how far it’s evolved and it should have been that way forever ago and I hope it just continues to grow and grow.”
As for Vaquer, she is still the Women’s World Champion and is heading to WrestleMania 42, where she’ll be defending the belt against the 2026 women’s Royal Rumble winner, Liv Morgan.
