AEW Continental Classic 2025 Night Nine Recap

The 2025 AEW Continental Classic continued on the December 24th episode of AEW Dynamite on 34th Street with three matches.

In the Blue League, Konosuke Takeshita became the first man to make the semifinals, defeating Orange Cassidy in the opening contest of Dynamite.

With his victory, Takeshita moves to 3-0-1 for a total of ten points. Only Claudio Castagnoli could tie Takeshita as he currently sits at seven points. No one else can finish with more than nine points on the final night.

Cassidy falls to 2-2, but can still make the semifinals with a win over Jon Moxley and Claudio losing to or going to a draw with Roderick Strong.

Speaking of Strong, his run in the Continental Classic didn’t improve on Wednesday as he fell to 0-4 with a loss to Masacara Dorada.

Dorada improved to 2-2 with six points, and is still alive for the semifinals, but he needs some help. He not only has to defeat Takeshita on AEW Christmas Collision, but he needs a draw in the Cassidy vs. Moxley bout, and for Strong to defeat Castagnoli. Cassidy and Moxley have the tiebreaker over Dorada as they both defeated him in the round robin, and thought Dorada defeated Castagnoli to give him the tiebreaker, a win for Claudio over Strong would put him at 10 points while Dorada can only reach a maximum of nine.

In the Gold League, all scenarios are on the table thanks to Jack Perry defeating PAC.

Perry moves to 2-2 for six points, while PAC fell to 2-2. Everyone else in the Gold League also sits at 2-2. The final night will come down to who wins and who has the tiebreaker.
