Jose Aldo Officially Retires At UFC Rio, Leaves Gloves In Octagon
Jose Aldo has officially retired from MMA, once again, this time in his home country of Brazil during UFC Rio on October 11.
The appearance by the former UFC Featherweight Champion was a surprise on October 11. He embraced the cheers from the Brazilian crowd and shared a moment in the octagon with his family before leaving his gloves in the ring to signify his retirement.
This is the second time he’s announced his retirement. He first retired in 2022 after a loss to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 278. He ends his career with a record of 32 wins and 10 losses, fighting three more times after his initial retirement in 2022. His last official fight was at UFC 315 in May 2025.
