Alex Pereira talks about potentially boxing Jake Paul.
Since moving to the sport of boxing beginning in 2018, Paul has garnered attention as an influencer turned athlete in a similar fashion to his brother Logan. Paul is currently scheduled to box Anthony Joshua on December 19, 2025, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, but that has not stopped him turning to potential future opponents such as UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira.
While speaking to TMZ Sports with the help of a translator, Pereira was asked about a potential boxing match with Paul, where he would explain that he would not be able to take the fight due to being under contract.
“Definitely not. I have a contract with the UFC, and he knows it. He knows I can’t go and fight. So I think he’s talking a lot more to promote himself than anything else. He knows it’s not possible.”
Pereira would be asked further about the potential matchup, remarking that it would be a ‘good fight’.
“I think that it’d be a good fight. I mean, he’s been having some good fights. He’s training. He’s fighting tough athletes, so it’d be a good fight. I think it’d be a challenge for both of us. I do really well boxing sparring. I have one pro boxing fight, so I think when you do things that you enjoy, doing that you do them well so that’s how I kind of feel about boxing for myself.”
