Tyra Mae Steele Reveals Audio Of Vince McMahon Calling Her After She Won An Olympic Gold Medal

Tyra Mae Steele (Tamyra Mensah-Stock) was the Olympic champion at 68 kilograms at the Tokyo Games in 2021, becoming the first Black woman to win gold in freestyle wrestling.

She quickly appeared on WWE television, making a cameo at SummerSlam 2021. She would sign with WWE in May 2023.

Appearing on Wrestling Syndicate, Tyra Mae Steele played the audio of Vince McMahon calling her after she won the Olympic gold medal.

“This is Vince McMahon. Congratulations on your victory. We would love to be able to talk to you about joining us here at WWE.”

She made her TV debut in July 2024 and won the first season of LFG, which earned her an NXT contract.

She has largely been wrestling on WWE EVOLVE.
