Kurt Angle Says Shawn Michaels Went 10 Minutes Over At WrestleMania 21: ‘I’m Scared To Death That I’m Going To Have Heat When I Come Back’

Kurt Angle says he was scared to see Vince McMahon after his WrestleMania 21 match against Shawn Michaels.

During an Inside the Ropes show, Angle discussed this match and said that they were only given 25 minutes for their fight. But Shawn Michaels wanted to outperform everybody else that night, so he took an extra 10 minutes without approval.

Angle was scared to see Vince after the bout, but to his surprise, the former WWE CEO didn’t say anything.

“Shawn wanted to make sure [we stole the show that night.] You know what he did? He’s the only person that could get away with it. We went 10 minutes over at WrestleMania. We went for 35 minutes. We were slotted 25 minutes. But Shawn being the asshole he is, he went 10 minutes over. I’m scared to death that I’m going to have heat when I come back. But there was no heat. Vince McMahon always let Shawn do what he wanted to do, and rightfully so. If anybody deserves it, it’s Shawn Michaels.”

The match clocked in at roughly 27 minutes bell to bell.
