Virtual Basement have abandoned their trademark for ‘The Wrestling Code’ video game.
Over the past five years, fans have received periodical updates on the video game project ‘The Wrestling Code’, which was being developed by Virtual Basement. In recent years, several high profile names have been tied to the game, including the likes of Kurt Angle, Tajiri, Amazing Red and several other names. In the most recent update in the first half of 2025, the game was taking sign-ups for beta testing, but since then, there has been silence from the developers.
Now, it seems that the project has been at least put on hold. In an update on the trademark for ‘The Wrestling Code’, it has been officially abandoned as of late December 2025. You can check out the provided reasoning for the trademark being abandoned below.
“Abandoned because no Statement of Use or Extension Request timely filed after Notice of Allowance was issued. To view all documents in this file, click on the Trademark Document Retrieval link at the top of this page.”
Former WWE superstar JTG previously commented on wanting to work more on the game. You can read more about that here.
