The Blue Meanie believes that ECW was like the Halley’s Comet of professional wrestling.
The Blue Meanie has featured across several promotions in the world of professional wrestling but is most known for his time with ECW, and for the ECW alumni, he believes that ECW shares traits with Halley’s Comet.
While speaking to The Stunner in a new interview, The Blue Meanie compared ECW to Halley’s Comet.
“I’d say ECW was like the Halley’s Comet of professional wrestling. It didn’t last long, but the people who saw it were really affected by it, and they’re to be talking about for generations to come. I find that a lot of people who experience it live pass it on to the next generation. Like, the family’s fine China. Here’s my good ECW. Pass it on. Here are my tapes. Please take care of them. Yeah, and there’s like that underground fight club thing of people still trading ECW footage. So to be here all these years later and still talking about it means… it must have done something right. You could talk about all the things that didn’t go right, all the things they could have done. You could say, yeah, Paul owed me money, but truth be told, if it wasn’t for Paul Heyman, nobody would know who I am because I was a kid from Atlantic City, only a year and a half in the business, and he gave me an opportunity. Without that, I couldn’t have went to the WWE, and so many other great things came out of it. working for ECW by hometown promotion.”
Last year, The Blue Meanie would feature on AEW and Ring Of Honor television. You can read more about that here.
