Joe Hendry Captures NXT Championship In Ladder Match On 2/3 WWE NXT
Hendry wins the title.
Closing out the February 3rd episode of NXT on The CW was a seven-person Ladder match for the vacant NXT Championship. The title was vacated by Oba Femi. Qualifying matches took place to determine the spots in the Ladder match for the belt.
Competing in the bout were the following names: Ricky Saints, Joe Hendry, Jackson Drake, Dion Lennox, Shiloh Hill, Keanu Carver, and Sean Legacy.
Highlights from the match include Hill using split pieces of a ladder as stilts to walk himself over to the ladder below the NXT Title. Another highlight was the six wrestlers in the match burying Keanu Carver underneath ladders. He eventually arose and took everyone out.
The final sequence of the match saw Ricky Saints and Joe Hendry going back and forth on top of a ladder and trying to pull the NXT Title belt away from each other. Hendry hit Saints with the belt, and Saints fell off the ladder.
Hendry then pulled down the NXT Championship to win his first title in WWE.
