Roman Reigns Picks CM Punk As His WrestleMania Opponent; Colt Cabana Podcast, Part-Time Schedule, WarGames Mocking, Zebros, 2023 Return, More Mentioned In Heated Promo

Roman Reigns and CM Punk go to war on the microphone.

Reigns started off his promo by acknowledging his history in Philadelphia, noting all the highs and lows that he’s went through in the city of brotherly love. ‘OTC1’ then noted that he has a decision to make when it comes to picking his WrestleMania opponent. CM Punk chants quickly broke out, leading to Reigns acknowledging Drew McIntyre to a chorus of boos.

Punk was out next. After addressing Finn Balor, Punk reminded Reigns that he’s a visitor on Monday Night Raw, a show where he calls the shots. Punk then taunted Reigns a bit, accusing him of taking the easy way out by choosing to face McIntyre at WrestleMania.

Touting his record-setting title reign, Punk slammed Reigns for having assistance from his family. Reigns tried to pipe down Punk from there, saying that The Bloodline is the only reason that Punk had a show or a company to come back to in 2023.

Punk dismissed the notion that Reigns is a messiah for the company and instead accused him of holding it hostage. After slamming his recent Pat McAfee Show comments, Punk accused Reigns of following his footsteps in reference to their lengthy title reigns. Punk also criticized Reigns for choosing to be a part-timer.

Reigns fired back by saying that Punk is only making towns because he took a ten year vacation. Reigns also laughed at the idea that he learned from Punk, saying that the only thing he learned from him is what not to do in this business. Reigns continued to hammer down Punk, revealing that the company consulted him about his potential return in 2023. After referencing Punk’s infamous appearance on Colt Cabana’s podcast, Reigns continued to air out his frustration with Punk’s return, before dismissing their Zebros partnership as “stupid shit”.

To close out the promo, Reigns talked about the lack of respect that Punk showed him at Survivor Series in November, accusing him of treating him like a youngboy. Reigns then made his choice, saying that he will face Punk at WrestleMania because he has always hated him.
