Je’Von Evans Looks Back On His Experiences With AEW
Evans appeared on AEW Dark before being signed by WWE.
While in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Je’Von Evans sat down with Peter Rosenberg to record an episode of Cheap Heat ahead of the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble Premium Live Event.
As they were discussing Evans’ career, his experiences with All Elite Wrestling were brought up. Evans appeared on AEW Dark in 2022 and 2023 before being signed by WWE.
“Yeah, we was a tag team,” Evans responded when asked if he and WWE EVOLVE Men’s Champion Jackson Drake wrestled in AEW. “We a tag team. We had a little six-man… That was AEW Dark… Just basically something to showcase people that they’re looking at, you know, at the time.” It was mentioned that at that point in Evans’ career, it must have been a big deal, and he replied, “For sure, for sure. I know they wouldn’t let me do anything till I turned 18. My first goal was like, hey, WWE is probably not gonna pick me up because I’m so young so I just wanna get signed. As long as I can get signed to a company at 18 years old… So, AEW was those opportunities that I accepted to be like, let’s see. Let’s get my name out there so I can get signed… It went well. They didn’t pick me up but, opportunities that I took advantage of.”
Evans is a part of the Monday Night Raw brand and is scheduled to be in the men’s Royal Rumble. An updated list of who is in that match can be viewed here.
