Triple H Names The Finish Of The 1995 WWE Royal Rumble As His Favorite Rumble Memory

Triple H names his favorite Royal Rumble memory, reflecting on Shawn Michaels’ save in the finish of the 1995 Rumble match.

As the 1995 Rumble match reached it’s conclusion, The British Bulldog would throw Shawn over the top rope, with Michaels hanging on with his hands on the top rope with only one foot touching the floor. While The British Bulldog thought he had won the match, Michaels returned to the ring to eliminate him mid celebration.

While speaking to ESPN in a new interview, Triple H would name his favorite Royal Rumble memory as Shawn Michaels ‘skinning the cat’ to win the 1995 Rumble match.

“It’s funny and it’s for everybody, I think is one of the classic moments. It’s Shawn Michaels in 95, I believe it is, hanging over the top rope sort of with one arm balancing himself and his feet not touching the ground. Davey Boy thinking he won, but it was the first time that we had seen anybody do that close of an elimination where they were just hanging by the skin of their teeth, and the drama of it, you could just feel that craziness and that emotion. Shawn was able to what we call ‘skin the cat’ back into the ring and win the Royal Rumble and go on to become champion at WrestleMania.”
