The Australian women’s wrestler has become a staple of STARDOM over the course of the past few years and prior to that, competed in Australia and all over the world. Now, she has explained where she was first introduced to the violent showcase that is Joshi pro wrestling.

While speaking to Thom Fain in a new street interview, Xena explained that her first introduction to Joshi wrestling came when she was training to become a professional wrestler.

“Well, I’m speaking for myself, but when you start wrestling and when you’re young, all you know is WWE. So when you’re at an academy, you’re searching up wrestling moves, promotions, where people train and come from, and that was my first introduction to Joshi wrestling, seeing highlight reels of Io Shirai and Mayu Itawani.”

Fightful interviewed Xena back in 2024 where she discussed a range of topics. You can read more about that here.
