Janai Kai Looks Back On Her MLW Run, Expresses Gratitude For Her Time There

Kai speaks about her time in MLW.
From October 2023 until May 2025, Janai Kai was with Major League Wrestling. During her run with the organization, she captured the MLW World Women’s Featherweight Championship.
Kai reflected on her time with MLW while speaking with BODYSLAM. She expressed her gratitude for her time with the organization.
“It was something that I knew was coming up because we initially just agreed on a year for the contract, and with it coming around a year, I knew that, okay, yeah, the time’s coming up. So what I did was I just had that conversation really quick with Court (Bauer), and even Salina de la Renta, as far as, ‘Did I fulfill all of your needs according to our contract?’ And everything like that, and they confirmed that yes, I fulfilled everything and that they appreciated everything that I’ve done, which I am very thankful for the work that I was able to do with them, and I’m very thankful that they wanted to work with me, and I am so appreciative and blessed to just work with a lot of people that I was able to work with. Even being part of CONTRA Unit, working with Jesús Rodríguez, working with Tristen/Ikuro Kwon, or even Minoru Suzuki. I got to be in CONTRA Unit. It was just amazing, and of course, showcasing my style. That’s a big thing for me, and it was great to feel that MLW wanted me to do that and that they appreciated who I was. So, when I found out that that year was coming up and that contract was ending, I knew, you know what? This was definitely a good stopping point. I feel like I did fulfill everything that I was in there to do and now it’s time to move on-on.”
Elsewhere during the media appearance, Kai spoke in detail about her experience at WWE talent Bayley’s Lodestone camp. More on that can be read here.
