Will Ospreay Scheduled To Be Backstage At 1/21 AEW Dynamite, Starting Process Of Getting Checked By Medical For A Return
The process for Ospreay to get cleared begins on 1/21.
Will Ospreay last wrestled in August 2025 in a Lights Out Steel Cage match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. That was his final bout before stepping away from in-ring competition to undergo neck surgery.
An update on Ospreay was provided by Sean Ross Sapp on the Fightful Select service. Ospreay is scheduled to be in attendance at the 1/21 Dynamite in Orlando, Florida, to begin the process of being checked by medical for a return to the ring.

In November, AEW President Tony Khan stated that he hoped to have Ospreay back in the fold of AEW in the first half of 2026.
Ospreay was in attendance at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 20 to be part of Hiroshi Tanahashi’s retirement ceremony. The next night, he made a surprise appearance at New Year Dash and reunited with United Empire. Ospreay told Callum Newman that once he is cleared and takes care of business at AEW, he’ll head back to New Japan to help usher in Newman’s vision of United Empire.
As Ospreay had his back turned, Newman was about to hit him with a chair, but fellow members of United Empire stopped him.
