Nixon Newell Thinks Alba Fyre (Kay Lee Ray) Is The Best Women’s Wrestler The UK Has Ever Produced

High praise from Newell for Alba Fyre.

Justin Dhillon of The Wrestling Classic conducted an extensive interview with Nixon Newell, f.k.a. Tegan Nox. As their conversation moved along, Newell expressed her opinion that current WWE talent Alba Fyre a.k.a. Kay Lee Ray is the best women’s wrestler to ever come out of the UK.

Newell added that she wishes Fyre and Candice LeRae could show more of what they can do in the ring, but said both are killing it in their respective roles on WWE television.

“Hands down, I don’t even have to think about it, Kay Lee Ray (is my U.K. wrestling soulmate). We had some bangers. We had some bangers. Singles, we had some banger multi-mans. We tagged in Japan and went for the tag titles a couple of times. We tagged in the U.K. as well. She is, to me, still, the best female wrestler the U.K. has produced. Hands down, without a shadow of a doubt. We’ve got some incredible people there, but to me, still to this day, Kay Lee Ray is the most incredible female wrestler to come out of the U.K. and I think it’s gonna take a lot to be able to beat that, because she’s just so good.” The host mentioned wanting to see more from Fyre, and Newell said, “It’s the same with Candice (LeRae). I wish we could see more of Candice and show why she is one of the world’s best wrestlers in general. But, both of their roles that they’re doing right now, they’re just absolutely knocking it out of the park and it makes me really happy to see.”

Fyre is paired with Chelsea Green as a member of The Secret Hervice. LeRae is paired with her real-life husband, Johnny Gargano. Both Fyre and LeRae are featured on Friday Night SmackDown.
