Finn Bálor Addresses Audience After World Title Match On WWE Raw: “Without Question, The Most Memorable Night Of My Career So Far”
Bálor addresses his home country crowd.
SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland, played host to the January 19th installment of Monday Night Raw on Netflix. Headlining the show was CM Punk defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Ireland’s own Finn Bálor.
Bálor was not able to pull out the victory, but post-match, he and CM Punk embraced one another, and Bálor spoke to the audience in attendance.
He described the night as the most memorable night of his career so far, and got the crowd to sing happy birthday to his mother. He said it was the first time in over a decade that he got to be with her on her actual birthday.
“First of all, ladies and gentlemen, let’s give it up for CM Punk. I just want to say that I feel very privileged to be here tonight. I’ve done a lot in my 25-year career in this business, and tonight is without question, the most memorable night of my career so far. You know, I don’t get to come home very often, and this week was very special because yesterday, for the first time in almost 15 years, I got to celebrate my mother’s birthday with her. So maybe we can all sing her a belated happy birthday… To get to do this on home turf, on our island, in front of my family, in front of my people, I wanna say from the bottom of my heart, (Irish Gaelic word)… You know what? It’s true what they say, there is no place like home. Thank you very much, Belfast.”
Bálor is a member of The Judgment Day faction on Monday Night Raw. His partners in the group, Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez, will have their own title opportunity at Saturday Night’s Main Event. For more on that, click here.
