Colby Corino On DEADLOCK Pro Closing: It Was A Really Special Place, It Was Like East Coast PWG For A While
Colby Corino comments on the closing of DEADLOCK.
At the tail end of 2025, DEADLOCK Pro Wrestling announced that they would be taking an indefinite hiatus following an event in Japan in 2026. This news came as a disappointing shock to the world of independent wrestling, as DEADLOCK was seen as one of the top promotions in the world.
Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp for a new interview, Corino spoke about the news and called DEADLOCK the east coast version of PWG.
“It really disappointed me. Deadlock was it was a really special place. It was like the East Coast PWG for a while, but then it evolved and even more than that. It became its own thing. It was great because at first, I feel it gave an opportunity to a lot of different talent that so many guys were not aware of before. From growing from where they were originally in Jacksonville at that CrossFit gym to all the way to the fourth anniversary show that they just did where they closed. That’s a pretty historical ride.”
Corino also showed some appreciation to the company for spotlighting young stars like Diego Hill and LaBron Kozone.
“Yeah. When you put the list out, it’s like the all-star list. People like Diego Hill and like LaBron Kozone, they were giving these new guys opportunities and that’s the best part of it.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Corino was asked about possibly producing or coaching in the NWA. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
