Leon Slater Hopes AJ Styles Issues Challenge To Him At TNA On AMC Premiere Show

Slater wants the match with Styles.

A.J. Styles is scheduled to return to TNA Wrestling for the promotion’s debut of Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC. The last time Styles was on TNA programming was at the Slammiversary pay-per-view, and he had an in-ring moment with the current X Division Champion Leon Slater.

Slater is on a media run, and one of his stops was chatting with Mike Johnson of PWInsider. Slater said he hopes Styles challenges him when he appears on iMPACT. Slater thinks the match needs to happen in a TNA ring for the X Division Title.

“I am most definitely hoping it’s a challenge to me, you know what I’m saying? I feel like that’s a match that is definitely going to happen at some point. Of course, I’m not on the inner workings of everything, but I feel like I have quite a gift for manifesting. Everything I see in my dreams and picture in my head seems to come to reality. That’s the match I’ve been picturing for years and years, especially with the position I’m in right now—youngest X Division Champion of all time—and he’s the first X Division Champion of all time. A.J. (Styles) has said he’s wrapping it up in 2026, so I feel like that singles match is something that needs to happen, and I think it needs to happen for the X Division Title in a TNA ring.”

Slater was advertised to be defending the X Division Championship against Myron Reed on the AMC debut show, but that bout is no longer being promoted.
