Eddie Edwards feels that the WWE-TNA partnership is a ‘win-win’ for both companies at this stage of the relationship.
Since the TNA and WWE partnership began, both companies have exchanged talent, with titles from both TNA and WWE being defended in the opposite promotion. Now, a staple of TNA programming has commented on the partnership.
While speaking to WhatCulture in a new interview, Eddie Edwards spoke about WWE and TNA’s partnership, describing it as a ‘win-win’ for both companies.
“That’s exactly how I feel. It’s a win-win. Like you said, anytime our talent can get out of the TNA bubble outside where somebody else or a new fan sees them, that’s a good thing. In no way could that be bad. It doesn’t, you know what I mean? Like we’re just putting the name out because they’re announced as TNA, from TNA Wrestling, or whatever it is. It’s not just spreading the word of this one guy or girl. No, it’s spreading the word of TNA and it’s getting to people who, like you said, otherwise might not be watching TNA. They only know WWE they only know NXT. So if you see TNA guys show up, like you said, all right I’m gonna go check that out. For them, you know, for the NXT roster to come over to TNA, I think that’s great too, because I think obviously there’s a lot of people on that roster, a lot of guys and girls on that roster who, some of them that can’t be used every week. If you only have one show or one episode a week, you can only do so much. So I think it’s important that the people they want to send over to work with TNA, they get to get more reps and they get to be on TV elsewhere as well. So it’s very much a win win. Like you said, people will be negative. They can be negative about anything. But I think for us and for WWE, it’s been a positive experience either way.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Edwards spoke about his potential retirement plans. You can read more about that here.
