CM Punk teases having more gear inspired by horror movies in the future, but notes he can only do it around Halloween.
Late last year, CM Punk would wear gear inspired by the ‘Halloween’ franchise for a matchup, with fans eagerly pointing out the easter egg. Punk’s love of horror is well documented, and has even had the opportunity to feature as part of the cast in several horror movies in recent years.
While speaking to That Hashtag Show in a new interview, Punk teased wearing more gear inspired by horror movies in the future.
“I’ve been around the game so long. I think people forget that I always used to annually have different Halloween gear (in) October for around Halloween. The season of the witch gear was going to be my gear for November 1st, which is close enough to Halloween for me, Saturday Night’s Main Event when I wrestled Jey Uso for the title. Then unfortunately my good friend and MMA trainer, Duke Roufus passed away. So I put the season of the witch ones on hold and had some yellow with the Spartan logo for Roufus sport made. So I wore those for Duke. Then I was like, well, I have these bad-ass tights. I’ll just wear them at the end of November, season of the witch. Let’s go. I probably will do in the future more stuff, but to me, it’s gotta be- I can’t do it around Christmas. I can’t do it in the spring. Summer’s out of the question. Next Halloween. I’ll have, I’ll have some new horror movie Halloween gear made for sure.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Punk spoke about wanting to extend his range of roles. You can read more about that here.
