Matt Hardy Predicts Mick Foley Will Have Prominent Role In AEW

As part of “The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy”, the current TNA Tag Team Champion dropped a prediction that Mick Foley will appear on AEW programming in 2026.
Hardy’s fourth prediction in the podcast revolved around Foley’s recent falling out with WWE. The Hall of Famer decided it’d be in his best interest not to be linked with WWE anymore due to their political ties.
“If I was booking AEW I would put Mick in a commissioner role and have him go out and just be entertaining as s***,” Hardy said. “I would put him as like a Commissioner or an authority figure in some way, much like he did that one time with ‘tables, ladders, and chairs, oh my!'”
He continued, “Just have him go out and entertain people. He’s a legend, he’s respected. You’re not going to see him in the ring so I think the AEW fans would accept it.”.
Foley has long been linked to current AEW World Champion, MJF, as the two were supposed to have a match together years ago. While Foley will likely never be cleared to compete, Hardy brings up some great ideas as Tony Khan will undoubtedly be keeping an eye on Foley’s status.
