Hiroshi Tanahashi Recalls Recent Workout With Aaron Wolf, ‘He’s Special’

Hiroshi Tanahashi praises Aaron Wolf.
Nearly seven months after signing with the company, Aaron Wolf will make his debut for New Japan Pro Wrestling at Wrestle Kingdom 20 on January 4. Wolf will face EVIL in a NEVER Openweight Championship match at the event.
Speaking with NJPW’s website for a new interview, Tanahashi recalled tangling with Wolf recently and said that he’s special.
“I got to tangle with him in the public workout recently, and yeah. He’s special. Obviously, I mean, he’s an Olympic gold medalist, but we didn’t go all out and I still thought I would be in trouble with his power.”
Tanahashi also said that there should be great competition between Wolf and Oleg Boltin, who also had a history with combat sports before becoming a wrestler.
“You put Wolf in this mix, and that’s going to fire up Boltin more and that’s going to be great competition. So there’s chain reactions of good stuff.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Hiroshi Tanahashi spoke about headlining Wrestle Kingdom 20. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
