Jade Cargill has admitted that she has felt the pressure of being a champion in WWE, sharing advice she has received along the way.
At the November 1st edition of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Jade would reach the top of the mountain in WWE, winning her first singles championship in the company by soundly defeating Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship.
While speaking to Brad Gilmore in a new interview, Jade Cargill was asked if she has felt the pressure of being a champion in WWE, admitting that at this stage of her career, she has.
“Yes. But, you know, I actually was talking to the Miz. It was Miz, and we were talking about the fact he asked the same question. Do you feel the pressure of being a champion? I said, ‘I sat back for the entire first year I was here and I watched the champions and I watched how you all dealt with the pressure and how you all dealt with your home life situation, and I asked a lot of questions’, and one thing I did tell my husband prior to this, this run I’m having right now was, Hey, it’s going to be a wild ride and I need you to hang on tight. I’m gonna be sleepy, I’m gonna be tired, I’m gonna be all these things, I’m gonna have all these feelings. I need you to understand what I’m doing right now and the purpose behind it all. I wouldn’t say the weight is heavy as you would think because I have such a great supporting cast behind the scenes at WWE, and a lot of champions have groomed me to be in this position that I’m in right now and me sitting back and watching them and trying to emulate what they were doing, has prepared me right now to hold this gold.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Jade spoke about Triple H’s initial reaction to her championship victory. You can read more about that here.
