Killer Kross Says Budget Is A Reason For Differences Between NXT And The Main Roster, ‘There’s A Lot More To It Than People Think’

Killer Kross speaks on the differences between NXT and WWE.

Since taking over as the company’s head of creative in 2022, Triple H has recieved a fair amount of criticism, especially compared to his time as the booker of NXT.

Speaking with Fightful for a new interview, Killer Kross spoke about the differences between NXT and Raw/SmackDown, singling out budget as a huge factor.

“Some of the things that don’t necessarily occur to a casual fan or even a diehard fan that follow everything, meaning everything that’s produced that’s available on YouTube or on social apps and stuff like that—budget is drastically different on NXT versus main roster. Now, what does that mean? Well, that means that if there is a higher budget allotted to main roster than there’s a higher expected return on investment. So how people are going to be compensated and how that return is going to be managed is going to dictate the show format, which is why NXT looks so much more different than main roster. That’s the most simple way I can put it. I could turn this into a two hour thing. We don’t have two hours. But this is why sometimes the way people land on NXT, with the audience don’t land the same way on main roster because there’s all different types of logistics that are taking place behind closed doors that they just don’t talk about. So when people wonder, ‘This character was this and now it’s this when they go up there, what happened?’ There’s a lot more to it than people think and he has to manage that.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Kross spoke about using his contract negotiations for storyline in WWE. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
