Ken Anderson Breaks Down Freak Injury That Ruined Planned Money In The Bank Cash-In

While he was a multi time World Champion in TNA, Ken Anderson was never able to win the big one in WWE. Shane Douglas recently caught up with the man formerly known as Mr. Kennedy to discuss where things went wrong after he won the Money in the Bank briefcase.
Anderson set the stage with Batista giving him a hug on his way into Vince McMahon’s office. He didn’t know whether the hug was a good thing or not, but he soon learned the plan in place due to Undertaker’s torn bicep, “Next week we’re going to have you come out and cash in your briefcase and you’re going to be the new champ.”
“I remember Batista pulled me out of the corner, gave me a short clothesline. I went down and felt something pop in my triceps,” Anderson said. He went to the ER that night and was told he tore his triceps off the bone. Similar to Undertaker, he would be out 8-10 months.
While that’s what one doctor said, that proved not to be the case. James Andrews grabbed Anderson’s arm and told him it wasn’t a tear. Instead, it was just a bunch of broken blood vessels and Anderson would be cleared to wrestle in a month.
Had Anderson never been hurt in the eight man tag, he would’ve cashed in on The Undertaker and became World Champion. Ultimately, a freak injury derailed those plans and he was never able to recover.
