Tony Khan Shares That The First Episode Of AEW Dynamite Was Going To Be At Madison Square Garden

Tony Khan reveals the original location for first episode of AEW Dynamite.

AEW returned to New York on December 20th, taping AEW Dynamite on 34th Street at Hammerstein Ballroom.

During the changeover, AEW President Tony Khan greeted the crowd and teased bringing a pay-per-view to New York.

The crowd chanted for “MSG,” referencing Madison Square Garden.

Tony revealed that the first episode of Dynamite was originally going to be at MSG. He said that MSG called and offered him the date. Tony said he would love to do it, but he was called a couple months later and told they didn’t want him anymore.

Tony was told that “it would really upset somebody.”

The crowd chanted “Fuck the Fed,” referencing WWE.

Tony said he felt like Charlie Brown with Lucy pulling the football and is unsure if he wants to run a show at MSG.

The first episode of Dynamite was held on October 2, 2019 from the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
