Sting Reacts After Retiring His Face Paint: ‘I Just Want To Say Thank You, I Love You, All Of You’

Sting reacts after retiring his iconic black-and-white face paint.

The Icon recently did a fan signing at WrestleVerse Fest on December 20 in Pittsburgh, PA. This was the final stop in his 2025 Or Never farewell tour, and he’ll no longer wear his face makeup at conventions.

Speaking with Denise Salcedo, Sting reacted after his final show with the face paint.

“I feel completely normal. This is just another gig for me. But, you have people like my daughter, for example, who’s sending these emojis on the phone, the crying emojis. ‘Dad, this is your last one ever.’ Then all my buddies and all my friends coming here and being a part of this. Is it those kind of moments because everyone’s feeding it, where it’s like this strong undercurrent of ‘Wow, this is the end. This really is it.’ I don’t know how to sum it up in into words, but the undercurrent is definitely there. Bittersweet for sure.

I’ll be glad to get off the airplanes and trains and automobiles, but I will miss the people for sure. Not just the roar of the crowd wrestling, but these meet and greets, the one-on-ones, and the story time telling. It’s amazing to hear everything that fans have to say. They’re just so appreciative and grateful, and so am I.”

Sting also said that he’ll appear in All Elite Wrestling from time to time.

“I just want to say thank you. I love you, all of you. I do believe that we’ve had a love affair going on for many decades now, and I will miss all of you for sure. But there will be little bits and pieces with AEW I’m sure down the road.”

Sting retired from pro-wrestling last year at AEW Revolution, going undefeated throughout his run.

In another interview, he talked about his long wrestling career. Fans can read his comments here.
