Kris Statlander Would Love To Be In A Faction Again, Understands Why Nobody Is Cool With Her At The Moment

Kris Statlander would love to be in a faction again.
Since departing the Best Friends faction in 2024, Kris Statlander has been riding solo in AEW. This seemingly worked out for the better though, as Statlander had a career-defining match with Willow Nightingale at the All Out pay-per-view in September 2024. Now, just a year later, Statlander is the reigning AEW Women’s World Championship.
Speaking with Iridian Fierro of Wrestfriends for a new interview, Statlander talked about her love of factions and her history with Best Friends.
“I personally love having people to work with and play off of. I feel like I’m more comfortable surrounded by people that share the same wavelength that I do, which is why I think me being with Best Friends early on — we were such a charmed group. Everyone was charmed by us, whether they loved us or hated us.”
Statlander went on to say that she’d love to be in a faction again but understands why nobody is vibing with her at the moment.
“Personally, I feel like I love getting to be surrounded by people I love and have fun with me. I’m all about wrestling being fun. When we are intentionally hurting ourselves and traveling all the time, the least that I want out of my day is to enjoy it. There’s so many people in wrestling that make it worthwhile. I would love to be in a faction again. I understand why nobody is cool with me at the moment, totally understand. Definitely I can make amends with people and we can work towards — I can work towards having a family of my own again. But right now, I have to just cruise along and understand that it’s okay to be by yourself sometimes.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Statlander opened up about reaching her “final form” in wrestling. Check out her full comments here.
