GUNTHER Says He ‘Disappeared’ After Beating John Cena: “I Didn’t Really Speak To Many People… Stayed Out Of The Commotion & Left”

GUNTHER did not hang around for the aftermath of Cena’s final match.

The final match of John Cena’s pro wrestling career was at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th. In what was a 23-minute match, the bout concluded with Cena tapping out to GUNTHER.

After the match, the WWE talent roster, staff, and executives made their way out to the ringside area to honor Cena. GUNTHER, on the other hand, proceeded to exit the venue. He told TMZ’s Inside The Ring podcast that he did not speak to many people afterward and disappeared to his room.

“To be honest, I kind of disappeared, so I didn’t really speak to many people, because, yeah, just sometimes when the damage is done, you leave and you don’t take a bath in it anymore. I took that bath in it on Monday, and yeah, I haven’t really been around after the match.

As soon as it was done, they had the whole stuff going on in the ring outside. I just disappeared to my room and kind of stayed out of the commotion and left…”

WWE Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque was booed by the audience after Cena’s final match. He addressed the reaction on the Saturday Night’s Main Event post-show.
