Triple H: It Is Incredible That Oba Femi Is Already Being Compared To Brock Lesnar

Levesque heaps praise on Femi.
The reigning NXT Champion Oba Femi was in the opening match of Saturday Night’s Main Event against Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
The bout between Femi and Rhodes resulted in a disqualification after Drew McIntyre stormed the ring to attack Rhodes. Femi and Rhodes ended up taking McIntyre out and removing him from the ring.
Femi’s performance was spoken about by WWE Chief Content Officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque on the Saturday Night’s Main Event post-show. He stated that when Femi gets to the top of the business, he’s going to stay there.
“Oba (Femi) was just incredible. If there’s anybody with a presence, that says star, if there’s anybody with a presence — without even having to see him step into the ring and do anything, that you can see walk to the ring, have his entrance, and you can take all the theatrics out of that you want. He is a star. He is a bona fide, charismatic, X-Factor-having star that will be on top of this business. When he gets there, will stay there for a long time.”
Later in the post-show, Levesque was asked about the idea of Oba Femi versus Brock Lesnar. Levesque said when one speaks about Lesnar being who he is, there’s already a guy in Oba who is being compared to Lesnar and being in that spot.
“Just watching Oba Femi walk out there, there’s a lot of people you wanna see him go with, right? And I think that’s the wonderful thing about it. That’s a wonderful thing about NXT, you get to fantasy book these people when they get here and what can they accomplish and achieve. Not everybody’s gonna take that giant leap to the next place, immediately, but, Oba’s one of those guys where you’re immediately — you’re talking about Brock Lesnar, the ultimate destroyer in the business and already, there’s a comparison to him, walking in the door. That is incredible.”
Coming up for Femi is an NXT Title defense at New Year’s Evil on January 6th. He’ll face the winner of a four-way that’ll feature Dion Lennox, Joe Hendry, Myles Borne and TNA X Division Champion Leon Slater.
