Oba Femi Defeats Je’Von Evans After Ricky Starks Interference, Retains NXT Championship
Oba Femi retains his gold.
Tuesday’s edition of WWE NXT closed out with a big match for the NXT Championship, as Oba Femi put up the title against Je’Von Evans. This title defense came just days after Femi won back the title from Ricky Saints at NXT Deadline. On the other hand, Evans gave up his title match at New Year’s Evil for the chance to challenge Femi on this week’s episode of NXT.
The finish of the match was hectic, as Evans almost had the pinfall victory after nailing Femi with his signature top rope cutter. Instead, Ricky Saints appeared at ringside and pulled the referee out of the ring. Evans jumped over the top rope and took out Saints before getting back in the ring.
Femi was ruthless from that point on, destroying Evans with a lariat and a powerbomb to retain his title.

With the win, Femi now has three consecutive singles victories over Evans dating back to their first match in March 2024.
