Lee Moriarty & Nigel McGuinness’ 30-Minute Iron Man Match At ROH Final Battle Ends In Tie, Moriarty Bests McGuinness In Sudden Death

McGuinness shows respect to Moriarty.

At Ring of Honor’s Final Battle pay-per-view, there was a 30-minute Iron Man match between Nigel McGuinness and ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty. The bout was a non-title match.

McGuinness sported the original Pure Championship to the ring. The last time Moriarty and McGuinness met in a singles match was at Final Battle 2024, where Moriarty bested McGuinness to retain the Pure Championship.

With 26 seconds left in their Iron Man match, McGuinness tied the score at 3-3. A shocked Moriarty was then caught off guard by McGuinness, who rolled him up and held his tights to go up 4-3. Nigel rolled to the outside, but Shane Taylor, who accompanied Moriarty to the ring, delivered a straight punch to McGuinness’ jaw. He tossed McGuinness back into the ring, and with the timer almost running out, Moriarty was able to get a three-count on Nigel to tie it at 4-4.

Post-match, Moriarty demanded that Nigel come back to the ring and do sudden death to determine a winner. The final result saw Moriarty secure a pinfall victory over McGuinness. It was a double pin, but Lee lifted his head off the mat at the last second.

Post-match, McGuinness showed respect to Moriarty and put the original Pure Championship on him. He then bowed to Moriarty, and Moriarty bowed back.
