Nick Khan: Rey Mysterio Was Considered A Nothing In WCW, The Machine Got Behind Him In WWE

Rey Mysterio is heralded as the Greatest Luchador of All Time, establishing himself in Mexico before getting breaks in America in ECW and WCW.

In WWE, his legacy was enhanced with multiple championship victories, WrestleMania moments, standout matches, and more.

Speaking to Logan Paul on Impaulsive, WWE President Nick Khan commented on Logan’s match with Rey, and explained how the machine got behind Rey.

“There was one match, you and Rey Mysterio. Think about the work that guy has put into his career. When he was in WCW, he was considered a nothing. A nothing. He came to WWE, and he had a great luchador history prior to WCW, he came to WWE and the machine got behind him. He did everything he needed to do to be elevated by that machine. In that match, you saw him save you or certainly help you, or make sure there wasn’t physical injury, which there could have been. I remember watching how quickly he did it and how instinctively he knew what to do. It made me happy that you were in the ring with one of the all-time great pros,” said Khan.

Logan and Rey battled at WWE Crown Jewel 2023, and a moonsault spot nearly went wrong. You can find Logan’s comments on the incident here.
